Windows 8.1

Ben Jun 27, 2013 02:41PM PDT

Is there a way to make Pokki work in Windows 8.1? Windows key goes to metro rather than Pokki, and unless moving taskbar to left hand side of the screen can't get any menu from Pokki.

Would also be nice if could get rid of the Windows 8.1 start icon.

Pokki does not officially support Windows 8.1 yet. However, most of it’s functionality still works when it is docked on the left side. We hope to update Pokki soon to support it properly. Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the issues you are having!

Is it okay if I bump this topic? I'm considering buying Window 8.1 for its updates of 8, and I'm leaning my faith towards Pokki.

Ben, it is my understanding that both menus (Pokki and the Windows one) is on the same task bar. But I don't understand what you are saying about which menu does what? What exactly are the problems?

Mark, is it definite that the Pokki menu will be able to replace the Windows start menu once the updating is complete?

We have not released a version that is fully compatible with Windows 8.1 yet, but we will very soon.

Windows 8.1 is out here in the UK today. Will my Pokki still work after I install 8.1?

I just LOVE Pokki. Period.
Last night I updated to Win 8.1.
I'm happy since it's WAY faster than Win 8, but, even if I have the two windows icons in the start (one for Win and one for Pokki), no matter what, whenever I press the Windows key I got the Windows Start, but NOT Pokki).

I hate when this happens, but, I'm happy that you are working in a solution.

Now, do you have any ETA?

Martin, you can right click on Pokki's start button and simply uncheck "Show Windows logo button" which will hide 8.1's new button in favor of Pokki. Make sure that under Pokki's advanced settings that you have "Open the start menu when I press the Windows key" checked off.

All functionality is great in 8.1 thus far.
